Research
Abnormal curvature or scoliosis of the spine is a common term and frequently misunderstood spinal condition. Fortunately, Chiropractic doctors can successfully treat and manage this condition in most clinical cases. The majority of our scoliosis patients experience relief of pain and symptoms with spinal manipulation and conservative appropriate physical therapy in our office. As a general rule, patients with scoliosis under the age of 21 (still growing) may experience relief of pain and a decrease of abnormal curvature of their spine.
Patients over age 21 (no longer growing due to closure of bone growth plates) can obtain relief of pain and discomfort while maintaining the current spinal curvatures and preventing the degrees of abnormal curvature from increasing.
Diagnosis of Scoliosis
Our Staff physicians will take a detailed medical history, thorough orthopedic, neurological, bio-mechanical examination. In addition, we utilize our modern digital X-Ray equipment
and software to closely analyze and measure in degrees the severity of the Scoliosis. At that time, the doctors will prescribe a customized treatment plan in an attempt to reach realistic clinical goals for each patient.
