The most common cause of foot or heel pain is plantar fasciitis. Improper foot biomechanics can cause abnormal foot pronation. During weight bearing, the bony relationship between the talus and calcaneus is compromised resulting in bio-mechanical and functional abnormality. The increased stress and tension can cause the condition to worsen. Plantar fasciitis is common among runners, athletes, and people with obesity. Common complaints include pain localized to the heel or calcaneus bone when walking.
Foot pain can result from trauma, sports injury, overuse, poor foot or structural support, or misalignment of foot and ankle bones from trauma. Our Chiropractic physicians on Staff
may x-ray the foot to determine the best method of treatment. The treatment will attempt to solve the cause of the problem using foot and ankle adjustments (manipulations), and/or cold laser therapy.
